Project Tallahassee is a monthly service ministry through Downtown Community Church. Our heart as a church is not only to come together on Sundays but to strengthen the church body by serving alongside one another as great neighbors. Project Tallahassee collaborates with nonprofit organizations in the Tallahassee area to meet the needs of people in our community and express the love of Jesus through word and action. Our mission as a ministry is to Serve (1 Samuel 12:24), Connect (Proverbs 27:17), and Abound (Philippians 1:9).
Organizations we are currently partnered with:

The HOPE Program is a mentorship program that exists to serve youth from K-8th grade. Our aim is to create a safe, fun, and positive atmosphere for scholars to get one on one or small group mentor-ship educationally, spiritually, and emotionally.
Our K-4th grade scholars meet on Monday evenings from 5:00-7:00 where we carry out our elementary program. This includes a time where we all come together to start off with a high energy welcome, which includes singing, dancing, positive affirmations, a short devotional, and our weekly announcements. The scholars then break off with their mentor and work on homework or academics for about an hour, which leads into free time for the mentor/scholar pair to partake in an activity they both enjoy. We end with dinner all together and dismissal. Our hope is that this time with our scholars will empower them to take ownership in both their educational and faith journey, so that they can make a difference in our community.
Hope Underground meets on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00pm. Here our secondary scholars continue to work with our mentors and their peers to develop educationally, spiritually, and emotionally. This includes a high energy welcome, small group academic time with dinner, and ends with a time of bible study, fellowship, and prayer with one another. Our hope is that our scholars understand the importance of community through this time with their mentors and one another and continue growing through this time together.
