Here at Downtown Community Church, we strive to serve our families on Sunday mornings from the moment you park at church and throughout your week at home.
Our families have top priority when it comes to parking. There is a blue flag that signals where family parking is located alongside the building.
Entering the building/Check in.
As soon as you enter the church there is an entire hallway called Hope City on your right filled with dedicated volunteers that are passionate about serving your family! You will be greeted by our check-in team and leaders to help you complete the new families paperwork. Once the paperwork is completed a member of our check-in team will check your family in using our Planning Center program. Here, you will receive two stickers. One will be for your child with their name and a unique letter/number code which will be placed on their back. This sticker will also display your contact information and any medical notes our volunteers may need to know about your child. The second sticker has the exact same letter/number code for the parents/guardians to use during pick up. All parents/guardians must have the sticker matching their family's unique weekly code in order to pick up their children.
In Hope City, we have four classrooms that are age-specific. We have the Northside Nursery, Westside Crawlers Room, Midtown Preschool Room, and the Southside Elementary Room. Each classroom has at least two trained, background checked volunteers that are committed each Sunday to serve your child and teach them about the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our Downtown Kids team strives to no only provide engaging teachings but also a fun Sunday experience your child will want to come back to!
Every Sunday in the Crawlers, Preschool, and Elementary classrooms we utilize the Orange Curriculum to teach your child about the Bible. The Orange Curriculum's teachings are always relevant, biblical, engaging and experiential. Each month has a theme that dives into different ways we can love, serve, and praise our God. Each month you will be given a Parent Cue that summarizes the lessons your children will be learning each week. Parent Cues provide conversation starters, activities, and challenges that you as a parent can use in your household to assist your child's walk with Christ. We encourage you to download the Parent Cue app to access even more resources to use at home!
Security is a top priority for the Downtown Kids team. Before, during, and after each service, we have a designated "bodyguard" who stays at the front of the Hope City entrance. The only people allowed into the hallway will be volunteers, parent(s)/designated person with corresponding sticker code for the child they are picking up.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns we would love to talk to you about them! Please contact our Families Director Delaney Stoner at firstname.lastname@example.org
